Heading west from Mineral Wells we find Palo Pinto, Texas. The town and county share the same name and this county seat nestled in the Palo Pinto “mountains” is the hub of political business.
Several section of original Bankhead Highway exist in Palo Pinto County. Sections around the Brazos River crossing still bear the name Bankhead Highway.
